Shirley Zalinger, 86, of Chatsworth, Calif., and formerly a 44-year resident of Fairfield, died peacefully October 22. She was born January 10, 1927, in Bronx, N.Y. She was married to her beloved husband, the late Charles Zalinger, for 59 years.

Her four children and their spouses, Audrey Locorotondo of Newtown, Debi and Dick Eisenberg of Los Angeles, Alfred and Marilyn Zalinger of Monroe, and Robert and Karen Zalinger of Monroe; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren survive her.

She was a loving wife, devoted mother, and doting grandmother. She will be truly missed by those who knew her.

A service took place in California.

Friends and family can pay respects on Thursday, October 24, at the Locorotondo home, 17 Greenbriar Lane, Newtown, from 6 to 9 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Vitas Hospice, 16830 Ventura Boulevard, Suite 315, Encino CA 91436.
