Joan Carol Reilly Oberg
Joan Carol Reilly Oberg of Brookfield, and formerly of Sandy Hook, died August 23, at her home. She was born November 26, 1936, in Bridgeport, and grew up in Stratford.
She attended Butler Business School and was employed as a secretary for Bridgeport Brass, and Plastic Molding Corp. She was the office manager for Oberg’s Texaco Service Station on Church Hill Road in Newtown for 15 years.
Mrs Oberg was a devoted homemaker, mother, and wife. She was a selfless and kind person with a wonderful sense of humor, as well as loving mother to her two boys.
Her interests consisted of ice skating, fly fishing, football, and animals.
Her husband of 57 years, Richard Oberg; her sons Carl Oberg of New Milford and Randy Oberg of Bantam; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild survive Mrs Oberg.
A memorial service will take place at the Newtown United Methodist Church in Sandy Hook, Thursday, August 29, at 11 am. An interment service will follow at Zoar Cemetery in Sandy Hook. A luncheon at the church will follow the cemetery service.
