Marion R. Haitsch, 91, of Newtown, died August 13, at Danbury Hospital. She was born April 6, 1922, in Danbury, daughter of Emelie (Prokopy) and John Haitsch.

Ms Haitsch was a charter member of Christ the King Lutheran Church. She was a church historian, chairman of Greeters Committee, and the first president of the Chancel Society.

She will be missed by several dear cousins, including Linda Prokopy, Wayne Prokopy, and NancyPurnell, as well as a goddaughter. Her sister Louise Hubbell and her cousin Eleanor Kaul predeceased her.

A funeral service will take place at 11 am, Tuesday, August 20, at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 85 Mt Pleasant Road, Newtown. Burial will follow in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Tamarack Avenue in Danbury. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 am at Christ the King Church on Tuesday.
