Christopher DeFeo and Laura Thomas

Christopher Joseph DeFeo, son of Joseph and Monica DeFeo of Newtown, is engaged to Laura Lynn Thomas, daughter of John and Mary Ann Thomas of Beaver Falls, Penn.

Christopher is a 1999 graduate of Newtown High School. The former resident, who now lives in Hamden, graduated from Villanova University with a bachelor’s in chemistry in 2003 and is currently a graduate student at Yale University. He is working toward his PhD, which he expects to finish in 2009.

Laura is a 2000 graduate of Blackhawk High School, Chippewa, Penn., and a 2004 graduate of Duquesne University, where she earned a bachelor’s in chemistry. Also a resident of Hamden, she too is a graduate student at Yale and expects to finish her PhD in 2009.

An August 2008 wedding is being planned.
