SOUTHBURY - Students of Julie's Piano Workshop performed the studio's annual Spring Celebration Recital at St James Lutheran Church in Southbury on Sunday, June 12.

The students, ranging from age 6 to 18, entertained family and friends with a varied program that included classical, contemporary, Broadway, and movie selections.

Fourteen students offered performances for family and friends on Sunday afternoon: Kathryn Alena, Jack Baimel, Adam Budrewicz, Ian Budrewicz, Drilon Dalipi, Ceci Dugo, Valeria Gutierrez, Caitlin Moss, Camille Paradis, Adrian Totir, Elizabeth Varnum, Rebecca Varnum, Emily Vail, and Advait Vedant.

The recital was the third performance opportunity of the school year for students.

It was also the final recital for 2016 Newtown High School graduate Caitlin Moss. She started lessons at the age of 6 and continued for 12 years under the guidance of instructor Irina Virovets.

After performing Boccherini's Minuet on Sunday, Caitlin expressed her thanks to director Julie Cook, Ms Virovets, and her parents for their support and encouragement. She then told of her plans to attend Belmont University in Nashville, Tenn., to pursue a degree in music business.
