BOYS 8TH GRADE

 

NEWTOWN 68, NEW MILFORD 39: Pressure defense and balanced scoring produced the Newtown win. Four players scored in double figures – Andrew Fiscella (14), Ronnie Shimko (12), Ben Bagaglio (11), and Devon Manfredonia (10). Ross Coates pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds while Fiscella had six steals and Troy Simek and Bagaglio had three steals each.

NEW FAIRFIELD 67, NEWTOWN 66: Andrew Fiscella scored 35 points with five rebounds, four assists and four steals, but Newtown failed to convert a couple last second shots in a loss to New Fairfield. Matt McFadden had nine points, four rebounds, two steals and played solid defense. Ronnie Shimko chipped in with seven points while Devon Manfredonia had three assists and three steals.

BOYS 6TH GRADE

 

NEWTOWN 38, NEW MILFORD 24: Drew Adamek scored 10 points, finishing a perfect 8-for-8 from the foul line, to lead Newtown to the win. Mark Ingerman and Brian Shimko tossed in eight points apiece. Jack Capito scored five points and paced the defense along with Alex Caruso, who had three steals.

NEWTOWN 42, WILTON 20: Drew Harmata, Stephen Neylon and Josh Tenenbaum had six points apiece and Tommy Wilson dished off five assists as Newtown (now 9-4 on the year) cruised to the win. Chris Giorno powered a tough defensive effort that enabled Newtown to take a 21-5 first-half lead enroute to the win.

BOYS 5TH GRADE

 

NEWTOWN 47, CHESHIRE 37: Down by four points heading into the fourth quarter, Newtown broke the press and rallied for the victory. Ryan McGrath scored 24 points and pulled down 10 rebounds for his second double-double of the season. Joey Bowen and Kevin Regan added eight points each. Tad Pierson, Regan and Bowen all played well off the glass.

NEWTOWN 37, FAIRFIELD CELTICS 24: Michael Klein was a terror on offense (12 points) and defense (numerous steals) as he led Newtown to the win. Ryan McGrath chipped in with 11 points while Cody Shpunt and Michael Tibbetts controlled the boards.

NEWTOWN 49, WETHERSFIELD 35: Ryan McGrath tossed in 13 points and Michael Kennedy added 11 to lead Newtown over Wethersfield. Tucker Kass scored seven points while Tad Pierson and Joey DeVellis added six points each.

NEWTOWN 36, MONROE 28: Ryan McGrath scored 13 points and grabbed 12 rebounds – another double-double – as he helped lead Newtown to the win, raising its record to 12-3 on the season. McGrath also came away with six steals in the game. Tucker Kass and Kevin Regan combined for 12 points while Michael Klein dished out three assists.
