FCE-Laurel Chapter To Begin 2018-19 Season September 13
BETHEL — Friends of Counted Embroidery-Laurel Chapter (FCE) will begin its new season of meetings on Thursday, September 13, from 10 am until approximately 2 pm.
The club meets at Stony Hill Fire Department, 59 Stony Hill Road (Route 6) in Bethel.
For its September gathering, the club will enjoy a club get-together. Attendees will discuss a possible bread cloth program in October, which will be led by Judi Solomon from Thistle Needlework.
During each meeting, a new stitch is taught, so guests should plan to bring with them some fabric and threads if they would like to participate. Those planning to attend meetings should also bring their own coffee mug and lunch, basic stitching supplies, and show-and-tell items. Members are reminded to also have their name tags with them for each meeting.
The Laurel Chapter group meets on the second Thursday of the month, September through June.
Friends of Counted Embroidery is a nonprofit organization. Its purpose is to expand the knowledge of all forms of counted embroidery through workshops, lectures, slide presentations, and the mutual exchange of ideas.
After meeting for decades at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Newtown, the chapter began meeting in February at its new location in Bethel. This will be the first full season for FCE-Laurel Chapter in its new location.
