To The Editor:

The Friends of Newtown Park and Bark would like to thank everyone who came out to support our tenth annual Strutt Your Mutt dog walk and fair on Saturday, May 18, at Fairfield Hills. After two years of rain, incredible weather resulted in a record turnout by our loyal four-legged friends and their owners.

Proceeds from the walk will go toward maintaining and improving Newtown Park and Bark, Newtown’s dog park and social hub for Newtown’s dog lovers. A portion of the proceeds will also be shared with Spay and Neuter Association of Newtown.

Our event would not have been possible without our generous sponsors: Mt Pleasant Hospital for Animals, Canine Training and Behavior Services LLC (CTBS), Newtown Veterinary Specialists, The Exceptional Pet, VCA/Northside Animal Hospital, The Adelbrook Bark-ery, The Hometown Foundation, Camp SeaWatch Canine Pet Resort, Wags Doggie Day Camp & Boarding, Kim Jaeckel Photography, and Tiger Rose Labradors. Thanks also to The Musicman-Kevin Koschel, DJ for the event, who also donated the dog-centric photo booth.

A very special thank you goes to Mary Simpson and Talla, who entertained and inspired the tricks competition, and CTBS for setting up the luring course.

Thank you also to our amazing vendors: Connecticut Humane Society, Mary Kay, Renewal by Andersen, Bethel Veterinary Hospital, JJ’s Pet Goods, Companion Pet Rescue, Linda Miano, Peaceful Blends Essential Oils, New Phase Wellness, Something Winey, See What I Saw, Fork in the Road Food Truck, The SNO Company LLC, and Arf Scarf.

And as always, thank you to Newtown Parks and Recreation for its assistance with event setup and takedown.

Sincerely,

The 10th Anniversary Committee

Friends of Newtown Park and Bark
