To the Editor:Editor's note: Newtown donates surplus fire equipment to Guatemala through Mr Duke's efforts.

I have always felt that the permanent memorial paying tribute to the lives of the lost ones should be erected in a place of convenience rather than a place of obscurity.

With the relocation of the Newtown Hook & Ladder Company to their new location, I believe there is no more suitable of a site than their former station. When considering its locality to the center of town and its reasonable distance to Main Street, plus the already established parking areas, this could be very logical of a choice.

I hope the commission jumps on the opportunity and puts this location under consideration.
