Newtown Police have been investigating an incident in Sandy Hook since early this morning. According to release from the department, Newtown Police responded to the residence of 31 Berkshire Road at 8:53 am on a report of a home invasion.

Police continue to be on the scene, and are investigating with the assistance of the Connecticut State Police Western District Major Crime Unit.

Police are seeking the public’s assistance. They would like to hear from witnesses who may have been in the area of Berkshire Road and I-84 between 8:45 and 8:53 am Tuesday.

A dark colored sedan, newer possibly, with four doors may have been seen in the area, traveling at a high rate of speed. Anyone with any information is requested to contact Newtown Police at 203-426-5841.
