What A Parade!
To the Editor:
Wow…what a day, what a parade, what a town! To Newtown’s own Sydney Eddison, we say a special thank you. You have brought a beautiful spotlight to Newtown through your gifts of writing and gardening. You truly are a town treasure and a wonderful representation of what it means to continue to “write on!”
To our Corporate Sponsors: Title Sponsor Newtown Savings Bank; Platinum Sponsors Ingersoll Automotive, Maplewood of Newtown, Sikorsky Aircraft & Teamsters Local 1150; Gold Sponsors Rotary Club of Newtown, Radio Stations 105.5 & i95; Event Sponsors Atherton & Associates, Caraluzzi’s, Leahy’s and Nanavaty, Nanavaty & Davenport- a heartfelt thank you for your generous donations and support. And to all our sponsors, supporters, advertisers and patrons, our deepest appreciation goes out to you. It is through your on-going generosity, large and small, that we are able to enjoy the success of this time-honored tradition.
Thank you to the volunteers who organize and support the parade throughout the year as well as on parade day – committee members, emcees, street directors, judges, police department, town workers, The Newtown Bee…you know who you are. We couldn’t do it without you!
But most of all, thank you Newtown for once again coming out and supporting the Labor Day Parade. Your smiles, laughter, cheers and hugs keep us coming back each year. ”Write On, Newtown!” takes on special meaning as our small committee of volunteers reflects on the day. We are an extraordinary community, a town full of an amazing spirit…right on Newtown!
With deepest gratitude,
Beth Caldwell
