Police Plan Holiday Food Drive

Newtown police and Redding police plan to join forces on Saturday, December 11, when they conduct a holiday food drive for the needy.

The collection of nonperishable food is scheduled for 9 am to noon in front of the Big Y supermarket at Newtown Shopping Village at 6 Queen Street. Items that are collected at the food drive will be distributed to the needy through the Newtown Social Services department’s food pantry program.
