The Parade Is For All
The Parade Is For All
To the Editor:
As someone who grew up in town, I look forward to sharing the Labor Day Parade with my own children. Even though I live a few towns away, my mother is still a resident and has been since the early 1960s.
This year I have had a terrible experience. A couple sitting near us began harassing children to sit down, and one child was so upset she began to cry. I feel this parade is for all to attend, and youâre not always going to have a perfect view and since all the children are waiting for candy to be thrown, they will stand up, but people should be more understanding about the excitement and anticipation. And yes, my child was put into tears by this couple. Others in the area were just as upset about this attitude.
To the new residents and old time residents: take a look around and see all good changes as well as some of the bad changes.
Thank you,
