SHOP Planning Inaugural Halloween Event For Adults, Saturday In Sandy Hook Center

Continuing to celebrate Sandy Hook, the Sandy Hook Organization for Prosperity (SHOP) will host a new 21-and-over event this weekend: the inaugural Boos and Booze Halloween Pub Crawl & Costume Contest.

The special event is being done in collaboration with The Villa Restaurant, Nick’s Chilled ‘n Distilled, Nouveau Monde Wine Bar & Bistro, Cover Two Sports Bar, The Foundry Kitchen and Tavern, and Figs Wood Fired Bistro.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, October 27, from 3 to 8 pm, held rain or shine. Prix fixe tickets are $55, including tax & tip, and only 75 are available. Tickets can be purchased online at [naviga:u]sandyhookvillage.com[/naviga:u].

Costumes are strongly encouraged, and there will be a contest with prizes at the end of the evening.

Guests should park in the back lot of The Villa Restaurant, at 4 Riverside Road. The crawl will commence promptly at 3 pm.

Sign-in will take place inside The Villa Restaurant (Station One), where a glass of house wine or a beer will await each guest.

Designated captains will divide participants into teams to walk the streets of Sandy Hook and have some fun. Groups will stroll across the scenic Pootatuck River via the Sandy Hook Bridge and make stops at:

Station Two, Nick’s Chilled ‘n Distilled, 102 Church Hill Road, for a special Holiday Tasting;

Station Three, Cover Two, 100 Church Hill Road, for the choice of a draft beer or glass of house wine;

Station Four, Figs Wood Fired Bistro, 105 Church Hill Road, for a draft beer, a glass of house wine, or a mixed drink, and two spring rolls per person (selections are Vegetable Spring Roll, Buffalo Chicken Spring Roll, or Amore (Italian meatball) Spring Roll;

Station Five, Nouveau Monde Wine Bar & Bistro, 6 Washington Avenue, for another choice of house wine, beer, or cider, and a menu that is still under construction; and

Station Six, Foundry Kitchen & Tavern, 1 Glen Road, for a final choice of a craft beer or cider.

At check-in, each guest will receive five tickets, one for each restaurant. No cash or tip will be required for the first drink at each stop. Participants will be able to purchase additional food or beverages beyond what is included in the ticket price.

Uber and Lyft are available in the area.
