Broadway Music For The Holiday Season

Students at Sabrina’s Encore Productions have begun rehearsals for the next round of productions, including a fundraiser for Edmond Town Hall Theater.

Students and staff from the Newtown-based theater company will present “A Holiday Broadway Celebration” on Sunday, December 14, at 6:30 pm. The performers from Sabrina’s will be joined by special guest singers and alumni of Newtown High School to sing and perform a variety of Broadway tunes accompanied by three professional musicians.

Tickets for the special event are $12 adults, $10 students and seniors.

“Edmond Town Hall is a wonderful place for live performances,” said Kari Barrett of Sabrina’s Encore Productions. “The theater is in need of repair [so] Sabrina’s Encore Productions is doing a fundraiser. This was the kids’ idea. They wanted to do this for Newtown and the future of live, affordable theater for everyone to enjoy.”

Tickets can be purchased by calling 304-1236; checks (payable to Sabrina’s Encore Productions LLC) and credit cards are accepted.

In addition to the holiday production, students of the studio are also preparing for Grease, their next big musical production. Grease will be staged Friday and Saturday, January 30-31, also at Edmond Town Hall’s theater. The cast consists of seventh grade through college age students.

Then in February  Cinderella will be performed by students in grades 1-6. The February 6-7 performances will be presented at Madison Middle School in Trumbull.

For details about any of these productions, contact Sabrina’s Encore Productions at 304-1236.
