Many Made Coffee Stop A Success

To the Editor:

Over this past Memorial Day Boy Scout Troop 370 hosted it’s annual Memorial Day Coffee Stop.  As a community service project the scouts and their families provide free coffee, donuts, and beverages to travelers who pass through our town over this heavily traveled weekend.  The goal of this coffee break is to help assure that drivers arrive safely to their destination.  The coffee stop is open 24 a day, Friday afternoon through early Monday evening.

Over the holiday season the scouts assist other organizations on Depot Day by unloading and reloading hundreds of packages to be delivered to needy families in our area. Troop 370 is proud to participate in both service projects.

We especially want to acknowledge and thank the many people and local businesses who helped to make this coffee stop a success.  With sincere gratitude the members of Troop 370 thank the following:

Associated Refuse Haulers, Bagel Delight, Berkshire Veterinary Hospital, Big Y, The Blue Colony Diner, The Botsford Drive In, Carmunicio’s Pizza & Subs, Cedar Hill Electric, Connecticut State Department of Tourism, Costco, Guida Dairy, Fireside Inn, Friendly Service Stations, Citgo Newtown, Just-A-Buck, Mobil Station of Newtown, Shell Station of Newtown, MSC Industrial Supply, My Place, Newtown Hardware, Newtown United Methodist Church, Mr Noie Richards, Pizza Palace, Shaw’s of Southbury, Sohodex, Stop & Shop Newtown, the Town of Newtown; Health Department, Building Department, Public Works Department, and Parks and Recreation Department, Andrea’s Bake Shop, Dunkin’ Donuts of Monroe, Dunkin’ Donuts of Newtown, Doughnut Hut Newtown, Doughnut Inn Monroe, Doughnut Shop Shelton, and Twin Donuts of Bronx NY.
