Ann M. Cannon, 94, of Newtown, died February 27 at the River Glen Health Care Center in Southbury.
Mrs Cannon was born September 29, 1910, in Seymour, daughter of the late Fred J. and Anna (DeForest) Tuttle. Mrs Cannon was raised on a dairy farm in Seymour. She studied nursing at St Vincentâs Hospital. After the attack on Pearl Harbor, she worked at the Remington Arms factory in Bridgeport.
She worked for ten years at Fairfield Hills Hospital as a psychiatric aide and also cared for patients in her home. After retiring from Fairfield Hills, she worked as a home health aide for several years with the VNA in Derby.
She is survived by a daughter, Ann M. Ewen of Newtown; two sons, James F. Ryan of Terryville and Robert E. Cannon of New Haven; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Private services were held in Southbury.
The Southbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere, 235 Main Street North, was in charge of arrangements.
