Two Chamber Activities Planned For May 11
The Newtown, Bethel, and Brookfield Chambers of Commerce are hosting a luncheon workshop regarding long-term care insurance on Tuesday, May 11, at Three Oaks at Capellaroâs, 42 Vail Road in Bethel from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm.
Aldo Pantano, training specialist from the Connecticut Partnership for Long-Term Care, State of Connecticut Office of Policy and Management, will discuss how to protect oneâs assets if long term care is required.
According to the chambersâ release, in this economy, one year in a Connecticut nursing home can cost more than a quarter of a million dollars, and health insurance may only cover a fraction of these costs. The Connecticut Partnership can assist individuals in protecting their life savings, and provide them important facts for planning retirement.
Reservations for the luncheon workshop are required; a fee of $10 includes the workshop and lunch. This event is open to Chamber members and the business community.
Later that same day, Plantersâ Choice will be hosting an open house for Newtown Chamber members and the business community from 5 to 7 pm, at its farm and sales yard at 140 Huntingtown Road.
Plantersâ Choice specializes in quality service and prides itself in being a one stop shop for all nursery needs. The farms include seven greenhouses, acres of nursery stock, perennial production, and large sales yards.
Attendees will have the opportunity to tour the property and learn more about the wholesale nursery business from what the Chamber describes as Connecticutâs largest wholesale grower of nursery stock.
There is no charge for the Plantersâ Choice event. Call 203-426-2695, to RSVP or to obtain further details.
