Win Yourself A Mustang!

The drawing for the annual Newtown Lions Club Mustang raffle is only two weeks away. Lions members Jack Russo, left, and Peter Bowen sold tickets recently at the Woodbury Flea Market. The winning ticket for the raffle will be drawn on October 17 at 1 pm at the Newtown Middle School. The public is invited to attend. Tickets can be purchased from Amaral Motors, the Dodgingtown Garage, C.H. Booth Library, and numerous area merchants. The Mustang Raffle is the Newtown Lions Club’s largest fundraiser, thus enabling the club to contribute to various national, regional, and local charities. Although the primary emphasis is on blindness prevention and juvenile diabetes research, the recipients of the proceeds from this year’s raffle also include the American Cancer Society, the Booth Library, Newtown Youth & Family Services, Newtown Ambulance Corps, as well as more than 20 additional Newtown organizations. Last year’s raffle winner was Donna Buchelt of Torrington.
