To the Editor: The Bee, and to Newtowners for your generous response to Kendra's October 7 article about the shoe drive that directly benefits the rescue dogs (food and medical treatments) at Companion Pet Rescue. Yesterday I delivered two weeks' worth of donated shoes that had been dropped off at Your Healthy Pet [61 Church Hill Road]. They have kindly offered their store as our local drop-off site - the shoes filled the bed of my pickup truck. The "shoes for pups" drive continues through the end of October.
