Anna E. Phillips Frendt, 83, of Newtown died peacefully May 2. She was born in Bridgeport, where she attended both Harding and Bullard Havens Technical School.

She married and resided in Monroe for many years, where she raised her nine children and enjoyed her gardening. Later, she moved to Newtown and continued her love for gardening. She also enjoyed traveling with her RV and her husband, Dennis.

Her children, Colette Remillard and her husband, Steve, of Newtown; Darlene of Ansonia; Darcy of Boulder, Colo.; David and his wife, April, of Quincy, Mass.; Richard and Christopher, both of Stratford; Craig of Oakham, Mass.; and Brad of Crozet, Va., survive her. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Hunter Phillps, Nicole Remillard, and Tyler Remillard; as well as three stepsons, Dennis, Shawn, and Christopher Frendt.

A son, Bruce, predeceased her.

Services will be private.
