Sydney Eddison Reception At The Library
Sydney Eddison Reception At The Library
The Garden Club of Newtown will be hosting a reception and book signing with Sydney Eddison at the C.H. Booth Library at 25 Main Street on Friday, April 4, at 7 pm.
Sydney Eddison, garden artist and author, will begin the evening with a talk and slide presentation on âThe Rainbow Containedâ ââ container gardening with an eye for color. Mrs Eddison will discuss trying out color schemes in manageable, movable pots and containers, showing how it can be a great way to experiment with color.
Using containers can save time and trouble, and also provide for lots of flexibility. Learn about color compatibility, choosing containers, beginning a color scheme, as well as some great suggestions for foliage plants.
After the talk Mrs Eddison will have a book signing of her latest book, The Gardenerâs Palette, an easy to use guide that will help readers gain color confidence in the garden. Books will be on sale at the library at the time of the talk. Following the signing the Garden Club of Newtown will be hosting a reception for Mrs Eddison with refreshments.
A Newtown resident, Sydney Eddison is the author of five books on gardening and writes regularly for Fine Gardening and The Gardener. She has also been featured in Martha Stewart Living, Country Living Gardener, and other magazines. Mrs Eddison teaches classes at the prestigious New York Botanical Garden and Institute of Ecosystems Studies in Millbrook, N.Y. Sydney Eddisonâs own acclaimed Connecticut garden has been featured on television and on local garden tours.
