War Protesters Ignore The Facts
War Protesters Ignore The Facts
To the Editor:
Antiwar protesters mean well, but they ignore the facts and their arguments are hollow.
War protesters say: âGive peace a chance.â The facts are we gave peace thousands of chances. We lost more Americans on 9/11 than at Pearl Harbor. And when you add all the Americans lost since 1979 to terrorists the number grows to more than 4,500 people murdered by terrorists. Should we wait for another thousand to be murdered before acting?
Saddam had more than 12 years and 16 UN resolutions to live up to his surrender agreements of the Gulf War. He refused repeatedly.
War protesters say: âFrance and Germany are not with you.â So what? They were not attacked on 9/11. And they do not have a responsibility to protect the citizens of the United States.
France is not interested in peace, only in her profits. This year France stands to earn some $17 billion from their Iraqi oil contracts. Over the next three years their earnings could total $70 billion. More importantly, before Mr Chirac was the elected leader of France, he personally brokered the deal for France to build Iraq a nuclear reactor. His personal profit was in the millions of dollars.
France also forgets about the most valuable soil in France, the part that officially belongs to the United States of America. The hallowed land that is the final resting place of Americans that died on D-Day to liberate France and Europe from Nazi terrorists.
New York Times columnist William Safire revealed on March 13, 2003, that the French have been secretly aiding Iraq in its arms production of long-range missiles ââ missiles that may be used to hit US troops with biological and chemical weapons. Mr Safire reported that: âQilu Chemicals, a leading manufacturer of an advanced-rocket fuel known as HTPB, sold the substance to CIS Paris,â which Safire describes as a Parisian broker that is active in dealings of many kinds with Baghdad.
Thus protesters and many in the media ignore credible facts.
With regard to Saddam and terrorists, we should also ask: Why have the other Arab nations failed to police their own? This is a question our media should be asking all Arab nations.
Now that we are at war with Saddamâs terrorist regime, the British Ministry of Defense has reported to Fox News that recent Iraqui POWs from Basra have reported that members of Bin Ladenâs al-Qaeda are fighting side by side with Saddamâs âRepublican Guardâ IN Az-Zubayr! Hello-o-o!
How do war protesters (for supposedly reasons of peace) ignore the fact that Saddamâs regime tortures and executes American and British POWs and even captured journalists.
The evidence is obvious. The debate is over. It is now time to support our troops, our president, and the war. Donât fool yourself, this is about America not Vietnam, our freedom, and our childrenâs continued freedom depends on its successful outcome. God Bless America!
