Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarships
Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarships
The Rotary Club of Newtown is accepting applications for Rotary International Ambassadorial Scholarships to study abroad. Scholarships ranging from $13,000 to $25,000 accommodate one academic year of study at a foreign university while awards up to $12,000 allow students to partake in a three-month cultural immersion program.
As an ambassador of good will for the Rotary and the United States, recipients will have speaking engagements both nationally and abroad.
Candidates should have both excellent academic records and a history of community service. Generally, two years of college course work is required; a secondary school education with at least two years of recognized vocational employment may be considered. Interviews with Newtown Rotarians are required. Candidates must also research and select five foreign universities of their choice for possible enrollment.
Each scholarship recipient will have the unique opportunity to work under the guidance of a Rotarian.
Application materials are available at www.rotary.org/foundation/educational/amb_scho/index.html. Applications should be delivered to the Rotary Club of Newtown, PO Box 263, Newtown CT 06470.
