In Gratitude

To the Editor:

I’m not sure where to begin. This thank you is not adequate enough to express my gratitude for the caring that has been extended to us since the passing of my husband, Bob. I didn’t know that there were so many people that were involved in our lives.

The many, many people who came to the funeral home and the Mass made me very proud to be Bob’s wife. First, my thanks to Father Bob Weiss who so graciously welcomed Reverends Matt Crebbin and Janice Touloukian, (whom I work for) from the Newtown Congregational Church and their choir, who participated with my choir and gave us the beautiful Mass and music. I have heard from so many people that they have never been to a funeral that gave them such an uplifting feeling both in words and music.

To Maria Baressi who gathered so many women of the Newtown Congregational to host a most wonderful reception (what wonderful desserts!); to Vicky, Gale, Margot, Donna, and the ministers who covered the office for me during this time. (Hope I didn’t leave anybody out.) To Bob’s co-workers who came to visit him in the hospital, as well as at home. That meant the world to him. To the nurses and aides of the Danbury Hospital, oncology floor, who gave Bob comfort and dignity during his last days. To Hospice who was there every day giving the family much needed emotional support. To all his doctors who did their very best, but God had a different plan. To the wonderful people in the coffee shop of the Danbury Hospital who have the gift of listening and bringing joy and laughter during difficult times. To the young man working the blue and purple parking lot that allowed me to park wherever I could find a spot, knowing my situation. To all of you, too numerous to mention, who sent flowers, letters, cards, mass cards, food, phone calls, fruit baskets, and the list goes on. You are all the best!

Bob was a quiet and gentle man. He didn’t like attention drawn to himself. I’m sure if he were here, (and I know he is), he’d want to know what all the fuss was about.

With deep affection,

From the Lussier Family
