GRANDVIEW, MO. — Al Baker of Oakdale, N.Y., has just returned from the Missouri Auction School having successfully completed the course in auctioneering and auction sales management. He received a diploma and the honorary title of colonel along with men and women auctioneers from throughout the United States and Canada.

Baker is a long-time antique toy dealer and has been the owner of Baker’s Antiques and Collectibles at 1421 Main Street for 30 years.

The concentrated course is conducted by the Missouri Auction School at the world’s largest auction training center where most professional auctioneers are trained. The training included lectures and workshops featuring prominent auctioneers from throughout the United States. Trainees also participated in selling public auctions in nearby communities.

Subjects covered included antique auctions, real estate, livestock, furniture, business liquidations, auto, machinery, general merchandise and all types of estate auctions.

Baker plans to add estate and antique toy auctions to his already successful antiques shop in the near future.
