Lowering The Flag

To the Editor:

I was saddened on my drive into work today, March 2, to see that every business I passed who flew the American flag had it at full staff, including our town flag.

A quick phone call to a very helpful person in the first selectman’s office resolved this. A soldier from Norwalk was killed Tuesday morning in Afghanistan. If you fly a flag it should be at half staff, until his burial. There is a website you can sign up for that will send you notification of flag status changes. This is http://flagnotify.com.
