Newtown Scholarship Association announces a new spring fundraiser.

Beer & Cheer is being planned for Sunday, May 4, 4 to 7 pm, at Reverie Brewing Company, 57-B Church Hill Road.

All ages are invited to enjoy food and drinks, live music and corn hole.

Tickets are $65 for adults ($60 if four or more are purchased together), and $25 for children. Ages 12 and under will be admitted for free. Tickets cover the first two beers or sodas.

NSA is also planning is annual golf outing. The event will return on Tuesday, June 24, to Bull’s Bridge Golf Club in Kent. Given that Bull’s Bridge is an exclusive private club, the event sold out quickly last year.

Through annual fundraisers held during the year, NSA continues its mission to award scholarships and continuing aid to students with financial need heading to college.

Newtown Scholarship Association awards four-year scholarships to Newtown residents attending college and trade schools. It awards approximately $400,000 annually.

In the 85-plus-year history of NSA, over $4.5 million in scholarship awards has been distributed to students.
