Questions For Representative And Senator
To the Editor:
I have a few questions for our elected representatives in the Connecticut General Assembly, Representative Mitch Bolinsky and Senator Tony Hwang:
Where do you stand on the actions of the leaders of the Republican Party — your party — in Washington, DC? Do you support the current president of the United States in extralegal deportations and ICE raids? In cutting jobs and services in the social safety net. Do you support government by executive orders and by unelected persons such as Elon Musk?
Because it matters, what you’re for and what you’re against. You took an oath to protect the Constitution when you accepted the jobs you have. Are you doing that, and how? I’ve heard nothing about your positions within your own party, vis a vis the leadership of the party under whose banner you took office.
Unless you say otherwise, I think voters have to assume you stand with your party and are OK with what your leaders are doing. You own it.

Polling shows a majority of Americans support reducing the size of government, rooting out fraud and waste, seeking peace abroad, stopping fentanyl, not having men compete in women’s sports, and securing our borders. Given the recent human trafficking of 15 year old girls in Danbury, immigration is not a far off issue. Democrat’s reflexive opposition to these 80/20 issues is why their party approval is at an all time low.
Polling shows a majority of Americans do not think the president or the Republican majorities in Congress are accomplishing any of the things you mention, Ryan, except maybe a bare majority on immigration. I can cite sources. Can you?
Regardless, Connecticut — and Newtown — do not support the flailings in Washington. How’s your 401K?
