Three Ribbon Cuttings To Celebrate New And Expanded Businesses
Newtown’s First Selectman Jeff Capeci and the town’s Department of Economic and Community Development are planning three celebratory ribbon-cutting events within a 12-day period between Monday, March 31, and Friday, April 11.
The public is invited and welcome to attend any of these activities.
Festivities begin at 3:45 pm on Monday, March 31 as The Ranch Pub owners Damir Bislimi and his wife, Adrijana, guests, and staff members will join officials snipping the ceremonial ribbon to officially herald the newly-named eatery, which offers an inviting space that blends modern rustic charm with a lively pub atmosphere.
Formerly known as Red Rooster Pub at 160 South Main Street, it is the perfect spot to gather for drinks, a casual lunch, hearty dinner, or weekend brunch. Check out the website for a detailed menu and drink specials at theranchpub.com.
Then, at 11 am on Friday, April 4, visitors and officials can help celebrate the Grand Opening of Custom Sleep Technology at 317 South Main Street.
Co-founder Robert Zukowski will be on-site to explain and display how his cutting-edge patented technology in sleep product design, coupled with personalized data analysis, will create a customized experience for anyone looking for a higher quality and more restful sleep experience. The last ribbon cutting at 11 am on Friday, April 11, will launch an exciting new chapter for Affinity eSports as it shows off the new and significantly expanded STEM-focused gaming space and brand new podcast studio. Guests and officials can access the activities from the lower rear parking area of the converted mill at 27 Glen Road in Sandy Hook.
Co-founders Emily and Mark Kilpatrick and their team are on a mission to redefine the gaming world, blending wellness, education, and inclusivity into every aspect of esports by creating a balanced and nurturing environment where gamers of every age and background can excel, both in gaming and in life. Visitors and attendees are asked to arrive 10 to 20 minutes before the scheduled ribbon-cutting activities are scheduled so they have a chance to meet and greet these business owners and entrepreneurs, Newtown Economic and Community Development Director John Voket says.
“Whether it’s the whole new welcoming attitude and menu at The Ranch Pub, the amazing science designed to help you rest soundly at Custom Sleep Technology, or the breathtaking expansion of their space and programming at Affinity eSports, these ribbon-cutting events continue to showcase the rich diversity, talent, and creativity across Newtown’s local business community,” Voket said. “I hope these festivities will help propel these businesses to new heights of success and community engagement, and I hope residents and visitors prioritize supporting these local merchants.”
