Some Reminders
A new phone system was recently installed at The Newtown Bee office and we’re still working some of the kinks out. If you should call in to the Bee and find yourself disconnected, dropped, waiting interminably, or otherwise inconvenienced, we apologize in advance. It's not personal, and we are are working to iron everything out. The calls from the community are always of top priority to The Bee and its staff.
Technology, right? It’s supposed to save us time, yet it always seems to find ways to waste time as well.
We also wanted to note that we have fully transitioned over to the new policy requiring that all website submissions be posted under a full, real name. We continue to receive submissions from people under pseudonyms. As our policy states, we do not approve those to appear on our website. We would like to allow everyone to have their say so we are hoping those people will take heed.
Non-Bee related, but the town’s recycling survey is still available to take, at both newtown-ct.gov/home/news/recycling-survey and at hrra.org/information-newtown-sayt/.
The survey allows input to help improve recycling, and sustainable material management, and allows feedback to help shape the future of recycling in Newtown.
The survey has ten questions and is expected to take the average person just a few minutes. Is open through March 31. Responses are anonymous.
Additionally, a public information session on the Save As You Throw program was conducted on March 26, and three similar sessions are available, see story on A9.
See our calendar, as well as our continuing coverage in The Bee for more information.
