Albert Joseph Fenaroli, Jr
Albert was born in Astoria, Queens, N.Y., on January 29, 1931. Beloved son to Rose (Sussi) and Albert Fenaroli, Sr and younger brother to Florence Fenaroli.
He was affectionately nicknamed “Chubby” as a child and known to his children as “Baba.”
Albert attended Fordham Preparatory School and Fordham University in Bronx, N.Y., where he excelled in academics and athletics.
A staunch proponent of education, Albert was a standout student, graduating as Valedictorian of his class.
At Fordham Prep, he played football under legendary coach Vince Lombardi. Albert was a four-year starter at Fordham University. A 60 Minute Man earning All-American honors. Drafted out of college by the Baltimore Colts, Albert was traded in April 1954 to the New York Giants at Lombardi’s insistence. When a knee injury prematurely ended his football career Albert, always prepared, stood ready to enter the world of business.
In January 1955 Albert married the love of his life, Frances Annar. They started their loving family in Jackson Heights, Queens before moving to Albertson, N.Y., then settling in Jericho, Long Island, N.Y., in 1962.
He worked for many years in the field of transportation. Traveling the world, Albert spent much of his professional life working as Director of Global Distribution at Union Carbide Corporation. Later he became a transportation consultant, loyally serving the privately held freight/logistics management firm BDP International for years. After a long, storied and successful career, Albert retired to his home in Sandy Hook.
He was a lifelong and active member of the church. Supremely faithful in the Lord. A wildly devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He loved dogs, football, cooking, and more than anything else, Albert intensely loved his family and friends.
His greatest pleasures were Sunday dinners with the family, calling his grandchildren to catch up on their lives and a moderately priced cigar. With the help of his loving wife Frances, Albert never failed to sing Happy Birthday to the dozens of children, grandchildren and great grandchildren he loved so dearly. A special phone call that everyone waited for.
On Sunday, February 23, Albert Joseph Fenaroli Jr passed from this life to his eternal glory.
In answer to his prayers, Albert was called to God before his soulmate Frances; children James, Richard, Regina, Jeanette, Ronald and Jonathan Fenaroli; their spouses, children, and children’s children.
He leaves behind countless friends and family members.
The true measure of any man … the lives he has touched are innumerable and so his legacy lives on.
Albert died, sitting peacefully in the warmth and comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family with his dog curled up in his lap.
