Michael E. Criscuolo, 57, of Newtown passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 23, at Danbury Hospital.

He was the beloved husband to Jody Eldredge Criscuolo.

Michael was born in New Haven on July 24, 1967, and was the loving son of Joseph and Angela Cappiello Criscuolo. He served his country faithfully in the US Marine Corps and later in the US Army.

Michael earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of New Haven, and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Connecticut. He was an Army Judge Advocate (Attorney) for the Connecticut Army National Guard until his military retirement in 2022. Most recently he served in a Title 5 Federal Technician status as an Inspector General for the Connecticut National Guard.

In addition to his wife, Michael is survived by a sister, Gina Florenzano; nephew, Alphonse Joseph (AJ) Florenzano; his mother- and father-in-law Holly and Duane Eldredge; and uncles Robert Criscuolo, Guido Criscuolo (Louise), and Michael T. Criscuolo (Neal); aunts Anna Conley, Therese DiPietro, and Annette Nunez; and many cousins and dear friends.

The visiting hours will be Thursday, January 30, from 4 to 8 pm, at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue in North Haven. A Service will be conducted in the funeral home on Friday morning at 11 am.

Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans or Wounded Warriors (northhavenfuneral.com).
