Sharon Kay (McConahay) Bowman, born on August 11, 1942, in Columbus, Ohio, passed away surrounded by her loving family.

She is survived by her son, Aaron Bowman and his wife Carol (Daly) Bowman; her daughter Denise (Bowman) Tramposch and husband Steven Tramposch; her grandchildren, Dennis Bowman, Hana (Bowman) Kelley and her spouse Cameron Kelley, PFC Zoe Bowman (USMC), Amanda Tramposch, and Rachel Tramposch; as well as four great-grandchildren!

Sharon grew up in Columbus, and after marrying her husband, Kenneth Bowman, who was successful in a business which required many relocations, they finally settled in Newtown in 1983. After many years of being a fabulous stay-at-home Mom, she became the Assistant Tax Assessor for the Town of Newtown in 1985 and continued for the next 21 years. She volunteered for Newtown United Methodist Church for many years in many roles, including the Building Committee responsible for Wesley Learning Center, which provides a high quality learning experience for all children.

She continued her education with college credits and a Tax Assessment Certificate from the University of Connecticut. After retiring in North Carolina with her husband of 42 years, she resumed her career in her new community. She also continued her passion for golf and became a member of the LPGA, and enjoyed many years golfing and traveling with good friends.

Services will be held at Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street in Newtown, on Saturday, January 25. Viewing will be 11 am-1 pm with a brief service at 1 pm.
