The January 28 meeting of The Garden Club of Newtown will be held in the Community Room of C.H. Booth Library, 25 Main Street in Newtown.

The featured speaker is Brid Craddock, the lead landscape designer of Growing Solutions in Ridgefield.

Caring for hundreds of landscapes and gardens here in deer country, Craddock will share advice on choosing plants with deer in mind. The former Newtown resident is actively involved in sustainable landscape design, planting, fencing and masonry construction in Fairfield County.

Craddock began her design career with a degree in interior design and followed her love of nature in landscape design. She holds two-year certificates in horticulture/greenhouse management as well as landscape design.

The program will begin at 1 pm and the public is invited. There is no snow date, and there is no fee.

Landscape designer Brid Craddock will be the guest speaker for The Garden Club of Newtown this month.
