Global Community Engagement Day Event At C.H. Booth Library
On Saturday, January 25, from 1-4 pm, C.H. Booth Library will host a Global Community Engagement Day. This is an opportunity for readers to learn more about the diverse organizations in town and what they have to offer everyone.
Organizations already registered to participate include Agora Corp., American Legion and Sons of American Legion, Danbury Student and Business Connection, Friends of the C.H. Booth Library, Friends of Newtown Seniors, The Garden Club of Newtown, Newtown Cultural Arts Commission, Newtown Historical Society, and Newtown Lions Club.
There is still space for organizations to join, but not much.
If an organization wants to participate, there is a registration form to fill out online. Email Shari Merrill for more information, smerrill@chboothlibrary.org or visit chboothlibrary.org.
Global Community Engagement Day follows the Join or Die documentary screening and discussion event the library is hosting on Saturday, January 11. The event will feature a screening of the 2024 film about the importance of joining clubs and organizations on a local level. As the description of the event states, the future of democracy could depend on it.
The screening will begin at 2 pm, is co-hosted by Newtown Congregational Church, and reservations are requested by calling 203-426-4533 or visiting chboothlibrary.org.
