The gymnastics campaign will kick off after the New Year with Newtown High School’s squad warming up for a January 9 competition at New Milford at 5 pm. The meet will feature the host Green Wave, which edged Newtown for first place in last year’s South-West Conference Championships, as well as Brookfield and Danbury.

“We are looking forward to a great season,” said Coach Kim Kane, whose squad will once again compete out of Newtown Gymnastics Academy.

Team captain is Bella Muzzio Martins. Returning gymnasts are Sadie Boyajian, Aliyah Reuther, Camila Collesian, and Eva Fenaroli.

Newcomers to the lineup are Ellie Ehert, Addison Strychalsky, and Charlize Tabacco.
