Pedestrian Struck By Passing Vehicle; PD Seeking Witnesses

Newtown Police are hoping to hear from anyone who witnessed a pedestrian clipped by a vehicle while the person was walking on Church Hill Road late Wednesday afternoon.

According to a release issued by the department, on December 18 at approximately 5:10 pm, Newtown Police, Newtown Hook & Ladder and Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps were dispatched to the areas of Church Hill Road/Route 6 at Connors Road on a report of a vehicle vs pedestrian.

Connors is a dead-end road that runs north-south to the immediate north-northeast of the railroad tracks.

The unidentified individual reported being struck by the vehicle while they were walking eastbound on Church Hill within the fog line/shoulder.

It was reported that an older model white or gray SUV was traveling eastbound on Church Hill Road when its passenger side contacted the left side of the pedestrian.

Minor injuries were reported to the pedestrian, who was checked by first responders but declined transport to the hospital.
