Snapshot: Enzo Knapp
Family: My parents, my sister, and my wife.
Pets: We have three dogs all together, Gunner, Lucy and Hamilton.
Do you have any nicknames? Depends on who you ask but yes, Erk, Erky, and E are some of them.
How did you meet your wife? We met at a mutual friend’s house, at a bonfire party. We actually met prior to that, at my nephew’s birthday party, but that wasn’t really meeting.
How long have you lived in town? My entire life so far, 29 years.
Where do you work and how do you describe your occupation? I work for the Newtown Highway Department. My official job title is Truck Driver, but I do lots of different things.
What did you want to be when you grew up? I wanted to be a firefighter, a police officer, or an auto body man, so I’m two for three.
What do you like to do in your free time? I like to work on my car, and my truck, basically hang out in the garage, hang with my wife. The dog is usually there too. He likes the garage.
Are you a member of any clubs, organizations and/or communities of faith? Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire & Rescue, which kind of ticks all three of those boxes.
Favorite color? Orange
Favorite food? It’s kind of a tie, but I do love tacos and lasagna.
Favorite actor? I love Bruce Willis. It’s sad that he’s struggling with that (brain) disease. It’s terrible.
What was the most recent concert you went to? Post Malone. I went with my wife, my aunt, sister and cousin, about a year ago.
Do you have a favorite musician? Not really. If you look at my playlist you’ll see country and rock & roll to rap and heavy metal. I like a little bit of everything.
If you could spend the day with one person, living or deceased, who would you choose and why? My uncle Gary. He was my best friend and he died when I was young, and I would love for him to meet my wife. I know they would love each other. I’m sure he would be excited to go for a ride in his 86 Dodge pickup — my mom still has it — to Zoar Drive-In. I miss his laugh most, though. It would be nice to hear it again.
Do you have a personal credo? My grandfather always used to tell me “You have to learn something new every day, otherwise you become complacent.” It could be as simple as a life hack or a new way to cook something, but keep learning.
