The Cullens family lit up their annual Christmas light show on Sunday, December 1, with scores of guests attending.

Guests enjoyed a fire pit, hot chocolate, hot cider, root beer, and sweet treats. People in the community young and old participated.

Eight-eight-year-old David Merrill, the artist who painted the murals in Edmond Town Hall and the famous “American Flag Trees” in memory of those lost in the 911 tragedy, enjoyed hot chocolate while 2-and-a-half-month-old Caroline Benedict laid next to him in her infant carrier.

Chane Cullens noted that it took him a month to put up the thousands of lights and dozens of Christmas scenes throughout his property. Rhonda Cullens led the guests in some well-known Christmas carols before calling Santa on her cellphone to see who had been “naughty or nice” throughout the year. Everyone was relieved to know that Santa said everyone had been nice.

With that, the Christmas extravaganza was lit to the sounds of "oohhs" and "aahhs." Children and adults were equally delighted in the magnificent displays as they wandered throughout the property exploring each scene.

The display can be seen nightly at 9 Founders Lane in Sandy Hook.
