To The Editor:

It was a cold, rainy Thanksgiving morning, but that did not stop our participants from showing up to our 15th Annual Turkey Trot! Despite the rain and cold, smiles were aplenty on the faces of our participants working up their appetites for their Thanksgiving meals!

I want to thank the C.H. Booth Library Board of Trustees and our Vice President Cara Reilly, who also wears the hat of our Development Chair and Turkey Trot coordinator.

The success of the Trot is also possible because of our Library’s Strategic Project Manager, Jordana Bloom, who works tirelessly to make sure we have everything we need to make the Trot a success!

I would also like to thank additional volunteers who helped the Library with the Turkey Trot: Modzelewski’s Towing and Repair for displaying our beautiful American Flag at the start line; our Race Marshals who help guide our runners/walkers along the route; Newtown Savings Bank employees who volunteer to help us with everything from registration to race day set up; Bill Glass for pictures; Ingersoll Auto for the pace car; Alison Plante for once again putting on our Rooster Mascot Costume and spreading Thanksgiving cheer; Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire Department for the use of their golf cart; Newtown CT Rotary Club, for handing out water; Dunkin’ for their delicious coffee; Eunice at Bagel Delight for the yummy bagels; and Phinney’s for the delicious pies.

The C.H. Booth Library is very thankful to our Newtown Residents for their continued support of the library. I look forward to next year’s Turkey Trot and hope to see you all there!
