To the Editor:

Thanks to all five fire companies of Newtown, under the organizational leadership of Karin Halstead, for their support and manpower in conducting the Thanksgiving food drive.  For the 15th consecutive year the drive was a huge success.

Nearly 70 turkeys, along with 137 boxes of food, and over $1,000 in cash and gift cards were collected thanks to the generosity of Big Y and Stop & Shop customers who were critical to the success of the drive.  You know who you are…thanks.  

Many, many, thanks also to all the FAITH volunteers and the people of Newtown.  Once again we can supply food for those in time of need.
