To The Editor:

Attention Newtown! You have a rare opportunity this year to elect a state representative who is smart, honest and caring, who knows how to govern, and who is willing to work hard to get legislation passed that will help us. We need to make sure Michelle Embree Ku is our state representative in Hartford.

Michelle is a real listener. She’s spent months knocking on doors all over Newtown, and listening to our concerns. She’s worked at all levels of Newtown’s government, but she realized that many of our problems need solutions that go beyond Newtown.

Here is what Michelle heard from us:

We want a healthcare system that actually works for us, that’s accessible and affordable.

We want to be safe, and we want our children to be safe, from the public health threat of gun violence.

We want our children to get a quality education that leads to opportunities for their future.

We want to make sure our environment is clean and healthy, and that there are good solutions to our traffic congestion.

We want more housing options and a livable community.

We want to make sure we’re not paying too much in taxes, and that our tax dollars come back to Newtown.

Michelle cares about what we need, and she’s ready to work hard to help us. That’s why we need to take advantage of this opportunity to send an active new voice to Hartford.
