All Town of Newtown offices will be closed on Monday, October 14, in observance of Indigenous Peoples’ Day (formerly Columbus Day). Town boards and commissions will not meet October 14.

Newtown Senior Center and C.H. Booth Library also will be closed.

The transfer station on Ethan Allen Road will be closed. (The transfer station is regularly closed to the public on Mondays. It will not be open on Indigenous Peoples’ Day for commercial service.)

The United States Postal Service will not deliver mail on Monday. Post offices will be closed.

The office of The Newtown Bee will be open. Deadlines for the October 18, 2024 print edition will not be affected.
