To The Editor

As I was reading the morning paper it occurred to me that I should share my thoughts on the upcoming elections along with the many others in The Bee.

To that end: I am planning to support Michelle Embree Ku because her work over the past few years points to someone with a commonsense approach to political leadership; I am supporting Johanna Hayes because of her consistent support of citizens in the middle and lower economic classes; I am supporting Chris Murphy because of his thoughtful approach to governance and leadership.

I will also be supporting the Harris/Walz ticket because their approach to policy and governance more closely matches mine than does that of the other party.

I cannot support the Republican ticket primarily because the people who are likely to become leaders in a Republican Administration include among them people such as Stephen Miller, JD Vance, Rudy Giuliani, Roger Stone, John Eastman, Steve Bannon, Michael Flynn, Sidney Powell and Peter Navarro. The policies being advocated by this group of people are both anathema to America’s position in the world and to the American way of life. Last, but certainly not least, I cannot support a presidential candidate who is clearly lacking in moral values and an ability to provide ethical leadership.
