To the Editor:

I’m writing in support of Michelle Embree Ku, running to represent our 106th District for Newtown.

I’ve known Michelle for nearly a decade, and have only ever known her to be an intelligent, kind, empathetic, and practical person, leader, and community member. She takes the time to get to know not just the issues, but how others feel and why. In all her years of public service to our town, her strength and character has always shined in building bridges, finding consensus, and trying to find solutions that can be workable for everyone, all while zealously maintaining and advocating for our shared values.

She demonstrated this when she served on the Board of Education, Legislative Council, our Board of Selectmen, and helped serve Newtown in various other capacities over the years.

She knows what works, what is important to our families, and she has stepped up when needed, time and time again. Newtown would be well served by having Michelle represent the 106th District.
