SCAN To Host Seltzer For Members’ Critique
The Society of Creative Arts of Newtown (SCAN) has invited artist Peter Seltzer to critique work by SCAN members on Wednesday, October 9, at 7:30 pm, in the lower level of Newtown Meeting House, 31 Main Street (at the flagpole).
SCAN members are asked to bring one or two paintings to this valuable critique, for which there is no fee. Seltzer will critique as many pieces as possible.
Nonmembers are welcome to attend, to listen to what Seltzer offers fellow artists.
Seltzer’s paintings in oil and pastel have been exhibited at numerous public venues including The Butler Institute of American Art group and solo shows, New Britain Museum of American Art, Noyes Museum of Art, Canton Museum of Art, National Arts Club, National Academy of Design, and The Salmagundi Club.
Additionally, his work is represented in the permanent collections of The Butler Institute of American Art, New Britain Museum of American Art, Harvard University, and New Haven Paint and Clay 100+ Year Collection (CT).
A multiple award-winning artist, many in-depth articles about his work and technique have appeared in American Artist Magazine, The Artist’s Magazine, Pastel Journal and Connecticut Magazine. In addition, his paintings have been included in fine art books such as Strokes of Genius 9, The Best of Pastel 1 and 2, The Best of Sketching and Drawing, Pure Color: The Best of Pastel and Pure Color.
