Balanced Leadership
To the Editor:
As we approach the November elections, it’s important to recognize and appreciate the balanced, dedicated leadership that Newtown’s State delegation in Hartford has provided. Senator Tony Hwang, State Representative Mitch Bolinsky and State Representative Marty Foncello have consistently demonstrated their commitment to our town and its residents, working tirelessly to represent our diverse voices.
Senator Hwang has been a fair and thoughtful leader, always advocating for the needs of Newtown while balancing the broader concerns of the state. His approach to governance is pragmatic, and he regularly seeks input from his constituents, via community legislative forums to ensure he is acting in the best interests of our community.
State Representative Mitch Bolinsky has been equally effective in his role. His active engagement with local issues, and his responsiveness to the concerns of Newtown residents, particularly during the recent historic flood and the rising cost of electricity have made a real difference. Mitch has been a voice of reason and moderation, ensuring that Newtown’s unique priorities are well-represented in Hartford.
State Representative Marty Foncello, whose district covers part of Newtown, Bethel and all of Brookfield, has served Newtown for the last two years and is a welcomed addition to our State Delegation. As a former First Selectman of Brookfield, he has a unique understanding of how state and town government can work together as he advocates for our local community.
All of these leaders have demonstrated a balanced, non-partisan approach to governance, something that is more important now than ever. This fair-minded approach has earned them the trust and respect of our community, and it is why I strongly encourage the people of Newtown to re-elect Senator Tony Hwang, State Representative Mitch Bolinsky and State Representative Marty Foncello this November.
