Registration is open for Pickleball Fun Day at Fairfield Hills, on Saturday, September 28, from 9 am to 3 pm. Rain date is Sunday, September 29. The Friends of Newtown Pickleball is hosting the event in conjunction with Newtown Parks and Recreation. Proceeds will benefit the Newtown Pickleball Gift Fund for the building of new courts for Newtown.

The entry fee for the beginners clinic is $25. The fee to enter the River Run tournament will be $40 per player. Open play will be offered after the tournament at no charge. There will be raffle prizes; raffle tickets are $5 each or five tickets for $20.

Sponsorship opportunities are available for local area businesses. Sponsor packages are offered at $50, $100, $250, $500 and $1,000 levels. There will be a signature banner for people in the community to come sign to show their support for new pickleball courts. The Stack Mobile will be the food truck at the event.
