To the Editor:

This is the day after the 2nd assassination attempt against candidate Trump. My right wing friends write to me telling me I should feel responsible because of my rhetoric against him. I told them I live in Connecticut, one of the safest states in the nation every year because of all the gun laws we passed since the SH shootings. We need national laws to ban assault weapons, better background checks and redline laws nationwide. Dems have given us this in Connecticut and nationally. We must elect them and enact more of those laws to protect even people like Trump. But maybe now is not the time to talk about politics. My thoughts and prayers go out to Trump and his family.
